You can now add your business to Foursquare for FREE! Here’s how…

Now I know that many won’t be aware of Foursquare but it’s a location based service that allows people who like your establishment to let their friends know they are at your location as well as leave their tips and reviews on your business.

Just this week Foursquare announced that you can now setup a business page.  I’d highly recommend you do this as it’s both free and easy, and to date has been the domain of big budget names.  To get started go to https://foursquare.com/create_page

Like all these services if you get in now it’ll pay dividends later and if you’re a specifically location based business like a hotel, restaurant, pub, bar, café, leisure complex, bowling alley, cinema, etc. then this is a MUST for you.

All you really need to do is create a banner image 860 x 130 and add a description of your business.  You can add a Twitter feed so info on your foursquare page shows on Twitter as it’s updated and you can do the same with Facebook. You can put a profile image on the page and there are some good display/privacy options as well as notifications.

You can also link directly to your web site offering a valuable backlink at no cost.
